Encouraging Reticent Mobility.

Welcome

Anything you say can and will be used against you.

And in a constantly connected world, you’re always saying something. Your cellphone is telling us where you are. Your refrigerator is telling us about your midnight snack. Your car is telling us how fast you drive. Your social media account is telling us where you were last night.

Device Not Found believes that we should all enjoy some measure of privacy.

The pictures you take should belong to you. When you exercise (or don’t), that bit of information should belong to you. If you want to make a grocery list, it should be yours alone unless you want to share it.

Device Not Found is a provider of secure, incurious apps designed to respect your privacy.

The applications you find here are not as cheap as the applications you might find on Amazon, Google Play, or iTunes, and you should be suspicious if you find one that is. Ask yourself this: if an application costs its users nothing, how are the developers compensated for their time and effort?

If you’re not paying, you’re the product.

App developers operate in a very competitive environment. In order to keep app prices low or free, apps are often designed to sell your data to companies and organizations. When you tap or click “Accept” in the Terms of Agreement, you often give away any right to privacy, and acknowledge that your data is the unwritten subsidy for a cheap or free application.
